The Patterson 12U Cal Ripken All-Star Baseball team will begin play in the southwest region tournament Thursday in Florence, Alabama. The tournament will continue through Sunday when a champion will be crowned. The event's winner will advance to the Cal Ripken 12U World Series, which will be held Aug. 2 in Branson, Missouri.
