Area high school teams were busy playing out-of-town tournaments Wednesday night.
Yani Johnson, 23, had a standout game for the Central Catholic Lady Eagles Friday night at home. CCHS defeated the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers 59-51 in the back-and-forth contest. Johnson had 24 points to lead Central.

Area basketball teams were busy during the holiday break.
Berwick standout Kenan Jones signed a national letter of intent to play football at LSU during a ceremony Wednesday at Berwick High School.
