The Patterson 12U All-Stars won the Babe Ruth State Softball title Saturday in Luling, topping Jefferson Parish Recreation Department—East 8-4. It's the second top-two finish for the 12U squad, which last year finished as state runner-up before winning the Southwest Region Title and the 12U World Series. Patterson will return to action in the Southwest Region Tournament, which will be held July 4-8 in Mountain Houme, Arkansas. The Patterson 10U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken District Tournament in Pierre Part this past weekend, finishing the tournament with a 3-1 mark. Patterson didn’t play its best defensive game Thursday, but it made the plays when it needed to hold off Jeffersontown, Kentucky, 6-4, in one semifinal at the Babe Ruth World Series.

The Patterson 12U All-Stars are two wins away from a Babe Ruth World Series title after winning two games in bracket play Wednesday. Patterson defeated Bonkid, China, 16-0, and South Bend, Indiana-based East Side All-Stars, 7-3, to advance to the 12U Semifinals. Patterson faced the J-Town All-Stars at 10 a.m. Thursday. The winner advances to Friday's 4 p.m. final, while the loser will play in Friday's 1 p.m. third-place game. Patterson wins twice, advances to semifinals
