MCHS upsets 4A No. 1 South Lafourche, 9-7

The Morgan City Tigers picked up their biggest win of the season Tuesday as they upset District 7-4A foe and Class 4A’s top-ranked squad, South Lafourche, 9-7.

Morgan City High School won its second consecutive contest Saturday with a 14-7 victory against South Terrebonne in District 7-4A action in Morgan City. Mitchell Mancuso, above in earlier season action, finished 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs Saturday. Patterson High School split its doubleheader with Kaplan Saturday, falling in game one, 7-5, before winning game two, 7-5. Randy Paul, above, finished a combined 2-for-4 in the two games with a double, a grand slam, five RBIs, a stolen base and three runs.
