All-District award winners for Central Catholic High School baseball are Gregory Leger, Drake Angeron, Samarick Paul, Mitchel Lemoine, Blake Hidalgo, Adam Dupuis and Thomas Garber, first-team; Tyler Longman, Bryce Grizzaffi and Thomas Mire, second-team; and Brooks Thomas, Nathan Hebb and Luke Barbier, honorable mention. Central Catholic High School held its baseball awards ceremony Thursday at the school.
The Patterson 14U All-Stars were two and out in the Babe Ruth 14U Southwest Regional Tournament in Plainview, Texas. The team lost 13-1 to Bryant, Arkansas, on Friday and dropped a close one (3-1) to South Brazoria County, Texas, on Saturday. Patterson won both the district and state championships to advance to regional play. The Patterson 10-year-old All-Stars won the Louisiana Dixie Youth AAA South Regional Tuesday with consecutive wins against previously undefeated Ville Platte. Patterson won game one, 5-0, to force an if-necessary contest. In game two, Patterson came from behind for a 3-2 victory.
