Patterson High School standout Javin Turner signed a national letter of intent to play college football at Southeastern University in Hammond on Wednesday. Joining Turner are his parents Ronny and Sandra Turner, sister Tina Johnson, niece Naidia Johnson, nephew Destin Smith, and a host of family, friends and teammates. “I just thank God that I got a full scholarship,” Turner said.

High school offensive and defensive linemen usually don’t get a lot of attention, but that was just the opposite for Patterson High School standout Javin Turner.
Area high school teams were busy playing out-of-town tournaments Wednesday night.
