A 59-year-old man was charged Sunday with DWI fourth offense in Morgan City and later registered over twice the legal blood alcohol limit, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.

A 50-year-old Morgan City man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a former elementary school principal, according to a Morgan City police news release.
A 16-year-old girl died following a Friday night crash on La. 70 involving a drunk driver, who has been charged with vehicular homicide, a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release said.
