In 2009, KWBJ TV in Morgan City created a new award to showcase those seniors who have continuously exemplified a positive attitude while contributing their time and talents during their career at Central Catholic High School. Central Catholic High School has selected Liam McCloy, Connor Laiche, Caroline Nini and Rebecca David as the 2017 recipients.

This summer, Tyler Longman and Cooper LeBlanc, juniors, will represent Central Catholic High School at Louisiana Boys State. Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students. A participatory program in which students become part of the operation of local, county and state government, Boys State was founded in 1935 to counter the socialism-inspired Young Pioneer Camps.
Two Central High students are selected.
Songwriting festivals are skyrocketing in popularity and can do wonders for the communities that host them, legendary songwriter Dean Dillon said Saturday in Morgan City.
