Morgan City, St. Mary Parish and Assumption Parish authorities all made arrests Tuesday on methamphetamine possession charges.
The Patterson city government posted this notice on its Facebook page:
One new COVID-19 fatality each in St. Martin and Assumption parishes was reported Wednesday afternoon.
The Louisiana Office of Public Health reported 52 new COVID-19 positives among St. Mary people and 46 in St. Martin in the 24 hours ending at noon Wednesday.
Two men who announced that they intend to run to succeed Morgan City Mayor Frank "Boo" Grizzaffi qualified Wednesday, the opening of the three-day qualifying period.
