Berwick High School couldn’t duplicate its effort earlier this month against the Kaplan Lady Pirates as the Lady Panthers fell, 10-3, in Class 3A first-round playoff action in Berwick Saturday.
Patterson fell to North Vermilion twice in three days in District 8-3A action.
One big inning was all the St. James Lady Wildcats needed Saturday to punch their ticket to the second round of the Class 3A state softball playoffs.
The Centerville Lady Bulldogs and the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack will open play in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s 2017 playoffs Tuesday in their respective classes.
High school softball playoffs will begin Saturday for three of the Tri-City area’s four teams.
Morgan City, Berwick and Patterson will be in action.
