Berwick's Tysin Meads signs with Millsaps College

Berwick High School basketball player Tysin Meads signed with Millsaps College Tuesday to continue his playing career.

Berwick High School's Andrew Askew is greeted at home plate by teammates after hitting a solo home run in the second inning of Monday's 16-2 Class 3A firstround playoff win against Albany. Askew finished the game 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs. Berwick, Class 3A's No. 3 seed, now will await its next opponent, which it will face in a best-two-out-of-three series this weekend. Berwick uses 11-run 4th inning to rout Albany, 16-2

Berwick High School used a huge fourth inning to take command of Monday’s Class 3A Bi-District Round playoff game en route to a 16-2 victory against Albany High School.

Patterson High School, top, and Morgan City High School, above, along with Central Catholic High School and Berwick High School have qualified for postseason baseball play. Patterson will host Caldwell at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Class 3A playoffs, while Morgan City will travel to face Neville at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Monroe in the Class 4A postseason. Berwick will host Albany Monday in the Class 3A postseason, and Central Catholic will host False River Academy Wednesday in the Division IV playoffs. The No. 3 Berwick High School Panthers will begin Class 3A postseason play Monday when it hosts No. 30 Albany High School in first-round action at 5:30 p.m.
