Berwick High School finished 2-1 this weekend at Central Catholic's softball tournament. The Lady Panthers bounced back from an 8-5 loss to South Terrebonne Friday with wins Saturday against West St. Mary (20-0) and Centerville (13-3). Patterson High School finished 2-1 at Central Catholic's softball tournament this weekend, defeating the host team, 7-5, and Houma Christian, 15-10. Berwick Lady Panthers finish 2-1 at CCHS' tournament

The Berwick Lady Panthers finished 2-1 this weekend at Central Catholic’s softball tournament, winning its final two games.

Sanford throws one-hitter in Berwick victory

The Berwick Panthers received a one-hitter on the mound from pitcher Mitchell Sanford, while its offense pounded the baseball in a 10-0 run-rule victory against H.L.

Berwick High School's Kenan Jones received a visitor at track and field practice Monday from Chet Broussard, who stopped by to congratulate Jones on breaking his school-record high jump mark. Broussard was the long-time record holder with a mark at 6 feet, 9 inches, a record he set in 1982. Jones broke that mark Friday at the E.D. White Catholic Relays with a leap of 6 feet, 9.25 inches.
