After Berwick used Kaplan turnovers to its advantage to take a 25-16 halftime lead, the Pirates protected the football in the second half, and ironically, forced Berwick’s lone turnover on the Panthers’ final drive to survive Berwick’s upset bid 38-33 at Geisler Stadium in Berwick Friday.
Trailing 38-33 with 2:30 remaining after a Kaplan score to retake the lead in a back-and-forth district contest, Berwick’s offense regained possession at its own 45-yard line.
