Babe Ruth Southwest Region Tournament

The Patterson Babe Ruth 13-to-15-year-old All- Stars will continue their season at the Babe Ruth Southwest Region Tournament in Andalusia, Alabama, beginning Friday. Patterson enters the tournament after having won the district and Babe Ruth state tournaments. The Patteson 12U All-Star softball team clinched the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Championship Saturday evening with a 16-13 win against Jefferson Parish Recreation Department — East in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Patterson, which finished the tournament with a 4-0 mark, will advance to its second straight Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida, later this month as a 12U squad where it will try to defend its 2017 title. It also is the third consecutive berth for the league in the world series as many of the team's players advanced as 10-year-old All-Stars.
