The Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association’s “Day at the Park” will be held Saturday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson.
The Northwest Raiders and the Westgate Lady Tigers emerged as the top teams in the 2018 Foster/Perry Relays held Friday at the Albert Perry Track at the J. C. Dry Stadium.
The Franklin Hornets notched a pair of victories in consecutive outings by topping the Northside Vikings and the Grand Isle Trojans in non-district action.
Carl Galle scored an ace Sunday playing with the Sports Beat Golf Club on hole No. 2 at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild near Patterson. He used a 7 wood from 124 yards. Berwick Junior High School student Hayden Robinson won the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Championship in the 12-year-old boy's division Saturday at Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette. Last year, he was the state runner up in the 11-year-old division. Also competing on the state level was Darla Mabile, a Berwick Junior High student, in the 11 year old girls' division.
