Patterson falls in pool play

The Patterson 8U All-Stars dropped their first pool play game at the Cal Ripken Invitational World Series Tuesday, falling to West Raleigh All-Stars 16-0 in five innings in Jensen Beach, Florida.

The Patterson 8U All-Stars are participating in the Cal Ripken Invitational World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida, this week. Patterson opened pool play Tuesday when it met the West Raleigh All-Stars. Pool play will continue Wednesday and Thursday before double-elimination bracket play commences Friday. The Patterson 12U All-Star softball team won its second straight Babe Ruth World Series title Saturday in Jensen Beach, Florida. Patterson defeated Kentucky-based Jeffersontown All-Stars 3-2 via a walk-off single by Amaya Williams in the bottom of the sixth inning.
