The Patterson 8U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken 8-year-old Machine Pitch--National state title Sunday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson. The team now will continue postseaosn play at the Cal Ripken Southwest Region Tournament, which will be held in Mobile, Alabama, beginning July 12. Patterson 8U All-Stars win Cal Ripken Machine Pitch--National state title

The Patterson 8U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken 8-year-old Machine Pitch National state title Sunday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson, topping St. Charles 4-3. Trailing 3-2 entering the top of the fifth, the Patterson squad scored two runs for the eventual win. St. Charles took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, while Patterson tied the game at 2 in the top of the second. St. Charles retook the lead at 3-2 in the bottom of the third.
