The Morgan City 9-year-old and 11-year-old All-Stars will begin state tournament play in Monroe this weekend. The Morgan City 9s will compete in the youth minors state tournament bracket against Monroe, Gonzales and Bossier. In the other bracket are East Ouachita North, Ruston, Pineville and Vernon Parish. Morgan City will open tournament play Friday at 2 p.m. with a contest against Monroe before facing Bossier Saturday at 10 a.m. and Gonzales Saturday at 6 p.m. The winner of bracket A will meet the winner of bracket B in Sunday’s final at 2 p.m. In 11U action, Morgan City will compete in the majors state tournament ...
