The charges arise from a traffic stop on La. 400 on Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle in the area of La. 400 and Back Marais Road commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified Dozar, and initiated an interview.
During the interview, the suspect driver conceded to the investigating deputy that a warrant existed for his arrest for a probation violation which was confirmed. Dozar was arrested.
During a walk-around of the suspect vehicle, the deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana from the vehicle.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized marijuana and multiple doses of Suboxone. An additional 21 doses of Suboxone were seized from the person of Dozar. Deputies also
seized a quantity of methamphetamine which was attributed to Dozar.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Dozar was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing on the local charges. He was ordered held without bond on the probation/parole violation.
