Police Reports 3-30-17

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Blayde D. Viator, 18, 106 Watson St., Patterson, was arrested on Wednesday at 12:24 p.m. for possession of Schedule I – marijuana and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law – drug free zone. Viator was released on a summons.
Juvenile male, 15, Bayou Vista, was arrested on Wednesday at 2:04 p.m. for possession of Schedule I – marijuana. He was released to a guardian.
Quentin Henry, 30, 7261 La. 182 Centerville, was arrested on Wednesday at 10:47 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of telephone harassment. Bail is set at $415.
Charlotte Davis, 51, 2618 Fifth St., Berwick, was arrested on Wednesday at 12:12 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension. Davis was released on a $2,000 bond.
Edmond R. Robertson, 59, 112 Jolivette St., Baldwin, was arrested on Wednesday at 3:31 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of domestic abuse, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Bail is set at $10,000.
Kendall Hines, 35, Jeanerette, was additionally charged with entering contraband into a penal institution on Wednesday at 5:24 p.m. He remains incarcerated.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
Robert Jones, 25, Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested on Wednesday, at 7:09 PM, on a warrant for traffic violations. Jones was released to Lafayette Police Department.

MCHS' Makye Richard is District 7-4A Defensive MVP

Morgan City High School had two boys basketball players earn first-team All-District 7-4A honors, including the league’s Defensive Most Valuable Player.
Makye Richard was named the league’s Defensive MVP, while teammate Tywaun Walker also made the top squad.
Other Morgan City players earning recognition included honorable mention selections Ke’Sean Francois and Deondre Grogan.
Ellender’s Davontavean Martin and Assumption’s Jahiem Spencer shared district Most Valuable Player honors, while Assumption’s Jordan Johnson is the district’s Coach of the Year.

Berwick edges Patterson, 6-5, in 10 innings

It took almost three-complete extra innings to settle the first of two District 8-3A contests between Berwick and Patterson, but in the bottom of the 10th, Berwick scored the game-winning run on an error for a 6-5 victory Wednesday in Berwick. With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Berwick’s Mitchell Sanford singled to left field, stole second and third base and scored on an error. Patrick Robertson, the third of three Berwick pitchers used, earned the win. In two innings, he surrendered one hit and fanned two. Fabre, the second Patterson pitcher used, suffered the loss. Patterson High School sweeps Franklin

The Patterson High School Lumberjills swept a District 8-3A doubleheader with Franklin at home Wednesday. Patterson won by scores of 17-0 and 17-1. No individual stats were available. Patterson (10-13 overall, 2-5 in district) will return to district action Thursday when it hosts Kaplan in a 4 p.m. contest. Berwick sweeps Franklin The Berwick Lady Panthers swept Franklin in District 8-3A action Tuesday. Berwick won game one 22-0 in three innings and game two 19-0 in three innings.
