The father of a woman whose ex-boyfriend was convicted of manslaughter entered a guilty plea Monday on a criminal mischief charge in connection with a May 2013 homicide in Morgan City.
A 26-year-old man received a prison sentence of 50 years hard labor after pleading guilty Monday to his role in the brutal 2013 stabbing death of another man in Berwick.
A fire Monday afternoon at Brownell Homes in Morgan City caused severe damage to one unit and also damaged some surrounding units, Morgan City Fire Chief Alvin Cockerham said.
