A 26-year-old man received a prison sentence of 50 years hard labor after pleading guilty Monday to his role in the brutal 2013 stabbing death of another man in Berwick.
Kirkland D. Craft, 26, of Morgan City, pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence in connection with the October 2013 stabbing death of Willie O. Francis, 23, in Berwick.
Court records showed that Francis was stabbed 63 or 64 times.
