Berwick High School is known for its prolific offense, but Friday night, its defense stole the show in a 34-13 victory against Morgan City High School at Tiger Stadium.
Berwick and Patterson High schools were the area's week 1 prep football winners Friday night.
Berwick defeated Morgan City, 34-13, in Morgan City, while Patterson topped Franklin, 26-0.

Morgan City and Berwick are bracing for another slugfest Friday night.
The Morgan City High School volleyball team will feature more height during 2017. The team looks to build off last year's first-round loss in the Division III postseason to Lusher Charter.
