Mrs. Allen Smith Jr. and Charlie R. Solar Jr. were presented as Queen and King of Galatea LV Saturday when the women’s Krewe of Galatea presented its tableau “Galatea’s Creation of Beauty” at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. In keeping with the theme, the queen depicted “Chinoiserie” and the king was “The Master Artist.” The krewe will parade at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 in Morgan City with the krewes of Nike and Hannibal following its procession.
Dionysus, Hannibal next up for Mardi Gras

As Mardi Gras day draws near, local krewes will have two balls each weekend leading up to the big day.
The krewes of Dionysus and Hannibal will each present a tableau Saturday.
