Battery, home invasion charges result from recent arrests

Battery, home invasion and weapon charges resulted from arrests by regional law enforcement agencies this week.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Christopher Eckols, 42, Wisteria Lane, Luling, was arrested at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday on charges of home invasion and simple battery.

--Anthony Pennison Jr., 54, La. 663, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jordan Granger, 37, North Everett Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Chad Bertrand, 41, Joey Street, Patterson, was arrested at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Rodrick L. Bennett Jr., 20, Leo Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday on charges of resisting an officer by force or violence, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of Schedule II drugs, and seatbelt violation.

Bennett is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Tra'vanna Nechelle Singleton, 21, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of home invasion. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Kilo Neole White, 36, Patterson, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a convicted felon; possession of synthetic cannabinoids; possession of methamphetamine; illegal use, consumption, possession, or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of person under 17; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Scotty Paul Miller, 35, Berwick, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of failure to comply with the terms and condition of drug court and possession of methamphetamine. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Trent Henry Duhon, 31, Patterson, was arrested at 12:49 a.m. Wednesday on two Morgan City Police Department warrants. Duhon is being held for another agency.

--Todd Joseph Hebert, 63, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging loud music. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Jardyn Ray Matthiaus McCoy, 24, Franklin, was arrested at 10 a.m. Monday on a West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office warrant alleging failure to appear for a probation violation. McCoy is being held for another agency.

--Danny Paul Savoie, 48, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:29 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear the charges of failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Roberto Guajardo Quintanilla, 49, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:29 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended and failure to obey traffic-control signals. Bail has not been set at this time.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Noah Paul Stansbury, 18, Felicia Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic abuse battery (aggravated assault), domestic abuse battery and violation of a protective order.

Deputies were dispatched to a Felicia Street residence and made contact with all parties, including Stansbury. Deputies determined that Stansbury became enraged and caused damage to the residence and its contents.

Furthermore, Stansbury armed himself with a dangerous weapon and attempted to strike a family member. At the time of this incident, Stansbury was under an active protective order in favor of a resident of the home.

Stansbury was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

--Billy Ray Landry Jr., 30, Judge Dupre Road, Breaux Bridge, was arrested Saturday on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Deputies responded to a complaint on Moffett Court in which the complainant reported that she lent Landry. an automobile on Friday with the understanding that he would return it by Saturday morning. Landr. failed to return the vehicle by the stipulated time.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies secured an arrest warrant for Landry.

Deputies arrested Landry on Saturday and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center with a bond of $15,000.

--Carmona Avila, 20, Onstead Street, Morgan City, was arrested June 5 on a felony fugitive warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office alleging felony theft.

Deputies proceeded to a construction job site in Amelia for the purpose of executing that warrant. Deputies located Avila and arrested him. Avila was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and released to the custody of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on Friday
afternoon.

--Todd A. Landry, 58, Ben Court, Pierre Part, was arrested Tuesday on charges of bank fraud, theft and illegal possession of stolen things. The case arose from a residential burglary investigation in St. Mary Parish.

Detectives from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding checks stolen in and cashed at a Pierre Part business.

Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Detectives contacted the Pierre Part business owner concerning the check transaction. The business owner positively identified Landry as the individual who presented the stolen check for cashing.

At the conclusion of the Assumption Parish investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Landry. Detectives arrested Landry on Tuesday and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported this arrest:

--Dennis Delasbour, 54, Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday on charges of driving under suspension, no taillights and failure to register. Delasbour was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.
