A short negotiation ended with the arrest of a Cayce Street man Tuesday after Franklin police answered a report of a hostage-taking and shots fired.

CENTERVILLE — St. Mary Parish could have a new superintendent of public schools in about three weeks.
The 1932 Chevrolet Deluxe sedan was one of the vintage vehicles on display Tuesday on the lot of AJ Dohmann Chevrolet in Berwick. Twenty-three vehicles from the Vintage Chevrolet Car Club of America are part of the club's Southern Spring tour of south Louisiana. This 91-year-old Chevy has a six-cylinder engine, a three-speed transmission on the floor and a bud vase near the rear window.
