Weighing in at the Morgan City Open Fishing Rodeo

Morgan City Open Fishing Rodeo contestants were just beginning to weigh in early Saturday afternoon, but they were already bringing some big catches to the Municipal Auditorium parking lot. The annual fishing event, which included a golf scramble Friday, raises money for higher education in the area, including the South Louisiana Community College Young Memorial campus and Nicholls State. This year's rodeo was dedicated to the memory of A.J. Cannata, the Morgan City businessman who founded the fishing rodeo. Cannata died in November 2023.
