Franklin and Morgan City to victory at parish jamboree

All four local teams will be on the road in Week 2 after the West St. Mary-Opelousas game was switched to Donald Gardner Stadium in Opelousas on Friday.
Berwick ran past Morgan City 34-7 in both teams’ season opener Friday in Berwick.
The Panthers led 14-0 at halftime and used three second-half turnovers to pull away from the Tigers.
Three first-half turnovers came back to bite Central Catholic after a huge Pine High School fourth-quarter rally to stun the Eagles 40-32.
Familiar foes face off when Morgan City takes the short ride to Geisler Stadium to tangle with Berwick in the season opener for both teams on Aug. 31.
