Berwick defense comes up big in win against Abbeville

The Berwick defense was gashed for 330 yards rushing during Friday night’s homecoming contest against Abbeville. However, the squad also forced four turnovers and recorded two goal-line stands to held the Panthers to a 42-20 victory in District 8-3A action. Berwick’s offense cashed on three of the fourth turnovers Friday. Berwick recovered three Abbeville fumbles and one interception. The Panthers opened the game with a 4-yard touch-down run by Josh Jones with 8:11 remaining in the opening quarter, and after recovering an Abbeville fumble on its opening drive, turned it into points shortly after when Sanford connected with Hover for a 4-yard touchdown ...
