Tri-City Area high school swim teams will compete at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Swim Meet in Sulphur with preliminaries set for Wednesday and the finals on Thursday. Morgan City, Central Catholic and Berwick all will be in action, with Berwick High bringing the area's largest contingent. Tri-City Area swim teams began action at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Swim Meet Wednesday at SPAR Aquatic Center in Sulphur.
The Berwick Lady Panthers girls basketball team won their season opener against Centerville 49-30 at home Tuesday.
The Donaldsonville High School Tigers’ run game, along with Berwick turnovers, were too much for the Panthers to overcome in their 42-18 loss in District 9-3A action in Donaldsonville.
Berwick High School will travel to face Donaldsonville Friday in what likely will be the Panthers’ regular-season finale.
