Patterson youth softball teams to begin postseason play Thursday.

Babe Ruth All-Star teams in ages 8U, 10U and 12U from Patterson will begin bracket play Thursday at the Babe Ruth State Tournament in St. Charles Parish Thursday.

The Patterson 10U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken District Tournament in Pierre Part this past weekend, finishing the tournament with a 3-1 mark. The squad defeated Iberville in Sunday's championship game. Patterson recognized its Cal Ripken Baseball All-Stars and Babe Ruth Softball All-Stars in a mid-May ceremony.

The Morgan City Recreation Department recognized its 7-and-8-year-old All-Stars during closing ceremonies at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium Thursday.
