The Patterson 12U Cal Ripken All-Star Baseball team will begin play in the southwest region tournament Thursday in Florence, Alabama. The tournament will continue through Sunday when a champion will be crowned. The event's winner will advance to the Cal Ripken 12U World Series, which will be held Aug. 2 in Branson, Missouri. Patterson 12U, 8U All-Stars will begin regional play Thursday

The Patterson 12U and 8U All-Stars will be participating in Cal Ripken Southwest Region Tournament play in Alabama, beginning Thursday.

The Patterson 15U All-Stars won the Babe Ruth State Title Sunday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson. Patterson finished the tournament with a 3-1 mark, responding from an opening-round loss with three straight victories. The squad now will continue postseason play at the Babe Ruth Southwest Region Tournament in Andalusia, Alabama, July 19. The Patterson 15-year-old All-Stars rallied from an opening-round loss Friday to win three straight games and earn the Babe Ruth State Championship this weekend at Kemper Williams Park near Patters

The Patteson 12U All-Star softball team clinched the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Championship Saturday evening with a 16-13 win against Jefferson Parish Recreation Department — East in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Patterson, which finished the tournament with a 4-0 mark, will advance to its second straight Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida, later this month as a 12U squad where it will try to defend its 2017 title. It also is the third consecutive berth for the league in the world series as many of the team's players advanced as 10-year-old All-Stars.
