Morgan City 11-year-old All-Stars win district tournament

Morgan City’s 11-year-old All-Stars swept a best-of-three series with Thibodaux this weekend at Peltier Park to clinch the District 3 title. After routing Thibodaux 10-0 in five innings Friday, Morgan City scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth Saturday for an 8-7 come-from-behind victory. With the wins, the 11-year-old squad advances to the state tournament, which will be held, beginning Friday, in Monroe. In Saturday’s contest, Morgan City trailed as much as 7-0 after four innings, before exploding for six runs in the fifth to cut its deficit to 7-6.
