LUKE JOSEPH GUILLOT

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luke Joseph Guillot, a former longtime resident of Bayou Vista, who passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in Huntsville, AL, where he was recently residing for work.

Luke was born in Morgan City on April 16, 1989 and was the eldest of three sons born to Joe and Jenny Guillot. He worked in the Commercial Construction Industry and was currently employed as a Superintendent with Impetus, a job he truly loved which kept him on the move. Luke was the epitome of what a friend should be. No matter what the circumstance, he could be counted on to be there. His charismatic personality exuded joy and a soaring spirit, living life to the fullest in his all too brief 34 years. Luke was always up for an adventure with family and friends. Those who knew him best will remember him with a deep fondness, not only for all of the goofy laughs, horrible jokes and even worse dance moves, but especially for the love he shared and his contagious spontaneity. This side of eternity is a lesser place without his light in it. He will be deeply missed by all.

Those Luke leaves to cherish his memory include his parents, Galen "Joe" Guillot and Jenny Winchester Guillot; his brothers, Adam Reed Guillot and his wife Mackenzie and Eric Matthew Guillot; his nephew, Reed Michael Guillot; his niece and godchild, Marilyn Elizabeth Guillot; his paternal grandfather, Beverly Guidry and his wife Ranette; four uncles, Lloyd Guillot Jr. and his wife Karen, Shelby Guillot and his wife Judy, Coy Winchester, and Dancy Winchester; four aunts, Bonnie McManus, Cindy LeBlanc (his godmother) and her husband Bill, Carmen Hebert and her husband Jacque, and Erin Guidry; as well as a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Guillot Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Lydia Guidry Michel and her husband Dudley; maternal grandparents, Danny Winchester and Cynthia Luke Winchester; his uncle Brady Guidry; his uncle and godfather, Ted McManus; and two cousins, Kelin Ray Guillot and Kristi Guillot Borel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Bernadette Church Hall in Bayou Vista on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at which time we will process to the church for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. Father Thainese Alphonse will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
