Battery and assault arrests reported; man booked in 2022 armed robbery

Morgan City, St. Mary and Patterson authorities reported arrests on battery or assault charges Thursday, while Franklin police booked a man wanted on kidnapping and armed robbery warrants.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 45 complaints and made these arrests:

--Shawn Casey Lovell Jr., 20, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Mavis Sue Pontiff, 49, Baldwin, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of improper use of registration, license plates, or license; failure to secure registration; and operating a motor vehicle not covered by security. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Tiesha Rockel Carbin, 22, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Bail has not been set at this time.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for servcie and made these arrests:

--Kendall D. Rounds, 36, Cottage Way, Thibodaux, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery.

--Travis M. Roberts, 27, Kerns, Utah, was arrested at 2:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of maximum speed limit, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Victoria R. Rodriguez, 27, Kern, Utah, was arrested at 2:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Keith A. Clark, 50, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at midnight Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Tylon J. Walton, 20, St. Michael Street, Patterson, was arrested at 9:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of domestic abuse battery by strangulation and simple criminal damage to property. Walton was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set

--Justin V. Ackman, 27, Main Street, Patterson, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. Thursday on charges of improper display of a license plate, no taillights and refusing to sign citation. Ackman is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $530.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to five complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Robert Andrews, Jr., 35, Brook Hollow Lane, Mesquite, Texas, was arrested on at 2:47 p.m. Thursday on a warrant dated April 6, 2022, alleging aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery. Andrews was booked, processed and held on a $1,250,000 bond.

At 4:29 a.m. April 4, 2022, officers with the Franklin Police Department responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at a local business located on Main Street. Officers learned that a male subject went into the business armed with a weapon and demanded money from the employee.

Detectives with the Franklin Police Department were able to develop a person of interest shortly after the incident

The Franklin Police Department thanked the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for assistance with the arrest.

--Christian Druilhet, 25, Henshaw Drive, New Iberia, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Thursday on warrants for the New Iberia Police Department alleging violations of protective orders.
Druilhet was booked, processed and transported to the New Iberia Police Department.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Da’Khari Tywan Clark, 21, La. 182, Berwick, was booked Thursday on 11 counts of simple simple burglary.

The burglaries date back to January 2022.

On Jan. 22, 2022, deputies responded to multiple complaints of automobile burglaries in the Griffin Court area of Bayou L'Ourse. Deputies responded and initiated an investigation and identified 11 vehicles that had been burglarized.

Detectives were able to locate electronically generated evidence that led to the identification of a suspect vehicle.

During the same period, the suspect vehicle was connected to burglaries in the Stephensville and Gibson areas. Detectives were able to identify Clark as a suspect in the Bayou L’Ourse burglaries and were able to place him in the same areas and at the time as those burglaries.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants charging Clark with 11 counts of simple burglary.

Clark was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday and was then returned to the Lafourche Parish Correction Center, where he is being held on local charges there.

Clark remains incarcerated with bond set at $82,500 on the Assumption charges.

--Stanley Peter Feist III, 20, Goode Street, Houma, was arrested Thursday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

The charges result from a suspicious person complaint on Elaine Street in Bayou L’Ourse.

Uniformed patrol deputies encountered an individual on a bicycle wearing a mask.

Deputies made contact with the subject, identified as Feist, and initiated an interview with Feist.

At some point, deputies conducted a protective search of Feist and his backpack and seized a quantity of methamphetamine from the backpack.

Feist was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
