JARED JAMES ANSLUM

March 21, 1982 - July 8, 2018
Jared James Anslum, a native and lifelong resident of Charenton, passed away at the age of 36 on Sunday, July 8, 2018.
Jared was the kind of guy who drew people in. To say he had a magnetic personality was an understatement. He was a generous and loving person who genuinely loved everyone, never met a stranger, and always had a smile on his face. He loved deer hunting, listening to music, and dancing, but by far his favorite pastime was cooking, and if we’re being honest, eating as well! An avid LSU fan, he could usually be found showing his love with his LSU cap on. But above all these, what brought the most joy to his life was his love of his family. Jared will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him and will definitely be fondly remembered.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his mother and step-father, Tammy and Craig LaGarde; his father and step-mother, Ronald J. Anslum Jr. and Faith Anslum; his fiancée, Elizabeth P. “Beth” McKee; his sister, Hannah LaGarde and her fiancé Chuck Ihli; his brothers, Derrick LaGarde and his wife Ali, Grant LaGarde and his wife Kily, RJ Anslum III, and Collin Anslum and his girlfriend Brittney White; maternal grandparents, John and Judy Bobbitt; his paternal grandmothers, Ella Mae Hidalgo and Shirley Migues; his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Ronald and Dale Anslum; two nephews, Jaxon LaGarde and his godchild Luć LaGarde; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Charles Hidalgo and Eddie Migues; his maternal grandparents, Edmond LaGarde and Leona Thibodeaux; and his maternal grandmother, Eunice Champagne.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, July 11, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again Thursday, July 12, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Ibert’s with Rev. Dr. Chris Holloway conducting the services. He will be laid to rest in the Chitimacha Mausoleum in Charenton. Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick LaGarde, Grant LaGarde, RJ Anslum III, Collin Anslum, Mark Anslum, and Chuck Ihli. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxon LaGarde and Luć LaGarde.
