Adult son resists rent demands from parents
DEAR ABBY: Should a 23-year-old son pay room and board even though he spends little time at home and eats out often? He doesn’t do laundry or help around the house.

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have a friend, “George,” who rents our upstairs. Our home is large, and the second floor has all the amenities of a 2,500-square-foot house.
DEAR ABBY: My mother-in-law owns the building my husband and I live in. I moved in with him about a year ago, before we were married.
Q: A huge portion of my income goes toward rent, and I already have a roommate and am not able to move right now.
