A 51-year-old Franklin man was charged with driving while intoxicated after Morgan City police officers responded to a crash in a parking lot, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release. —James F. Pike II, 51, of Ratcliff Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of DWI first offense. Patrol officers responded to the area of La. 70 in Morgan City in regard to a crash that had occurred in a private parking lot. Pike was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles involved and was in an intoxicated state, Blair said.
