Jared Simon Jr., 88, a native of Centerville and resident of Verdunville, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in Lafayette. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville. He is survived by a son, Ronald Gunner of Lafayette; two daughters, Nelvin Coleman of Patterson and Dionne Washington of Lafayette; a brother, Theodore Simon of New Orleans; two sisters, Delores Wiley and Geraldine Johnson, both of San Bernardino, California; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
