Mayor: Proposed budget accounts for ‘uncertain future’

Morgan City government’s 2019 proposed budget looks similar to the 2018 budget with slightly higher overall expenses compared to the 2018 amended budget. The council went through a first reading Tuesday of the city’s 2019 budget ordinance for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2019. City officials will hold a budget workshop at 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at City Hall to discuss the proposed budget. In the proposed 2019 budget are $39.15 million in expenses and $39.38 million in revenues.
