The Morgan City High School Tigers run-ruled South Plaquemines, 12-0, in five innings in first-day action at Lutcher’s tournament Thursday.
Morgan City erupted for nine runs in the second, added another in the third and two more in the fourth. The game was called after South Plaquemines’ at bat in the top of the fifth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Morgan City’s Gage Hirschmann tossed a three-hitter in the victory. In five innings, he surrendered three hits, hit two batters and fanned five.
As a team, Morgan City collected 11 hits.
