St. Mary Parish deputies have arrested two people, including a 17-year-old, on a charge of possession of stolen weapons, Sheriff Blaise Smith said.

Bert Miller, a freelance photographer from Thibodaux, came to Morgan City to see eagles and found the Lake End Park beach closed. The closure is likely to last at least through the end of April, although the walking trail remains open. Officials urge people to observe social distancing precautions.
Five more positive tests for COVID-19 in St. Mary were reported at noon Friday by the Louisiana Office of Public Health.
