Mac Wade, executive director of the Port of Morgan City, said Wednesday, that the port will have an open, navigable channel by the end of this year. According to Wade, it will be the first one the port will have been able to provide since 2015. Wade and Port of West St. Mary Executive Director David Allain were guest speakers Tuesday at the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon, held at the Forest Restaurant in Franklin.
