Berwick stays cautious with 2017-18 town budget

BERWICK — The Town Council is playing it safe in an effort not to overspend in the 2017-18 fiscal year, when revenues and expenditures are being predicted to be at levels close to the current year. The council held a budget workshop Tuesday to discuss the funds for next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1. The only expected capital outlay project for the new fiscal year is new playground equipment in Pharr Park for $13,939. The predicted revenue for the 201718 fiscal year is $20,000 less than the current year with $5,075,300 predicted versus $5,095,100 adopted in the 201617 budget.
