$10 million in road projects set to launch

Local governments are poised to begin addressing roads in St. Mary Parish that have been long overdue for attention. The St. Mary Parish Council has bonded $10 million in infrastructure funds, with another in the same amount to come in the near future. Parish government will keep the lion’s share of the funds, $7.5 million. At Wednesday’s meeting, Councilman Dale Rogers asked for expansion of the agenda to approve authorizing the president to engage an engineering contract for the “2018 Centerville-Verdunville” road improvement project.
