Woman sentenced to probation for attempted manslaughter

A New Iberia woman has been sentenced to serve three years of probation after pleading guilty in July 2016 to attempted manslaughter in the February 2015 shooting of a man in Morgan City. Kimberly Marie Thompson, 29, of New Iberia, was sentenced Monday to serve five years in prison at hard labor, but District Judge Keith Comeaux suspended the sentence and placed her on three years of probation, St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court records stated.
