A 35-year-old Berwick woman entered a plea deal last week in connection with a December 2016 incident during which she allegedly stabbed another woman in the stomach, St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court records stated. Latasha T. Jones pleaded guilty Friday to a charge of simple battery in 16th Judicial District Court. The district attorney had initially charged Jones with aggravated battery, but she pleaded to the lesser charge as part of a plea deal, court records said.
