A recent upward trend in St. Mary Parish sales and use tax collections may indicate a stabilization of the area’s economy, according to a parish official.
Parish officials collected $2.72 million in November, an increase of 1.4 percent from the $2.68 million collected in November 2016. Officials collected $27,376 during November as a result of financial audits, while $28,940 was collected due to audits during the same month of 2016.
