Superintendent gets good marks on evaluation

CENTERVILLE — The bulk of Thursday’s St. Mary Parish School Board meeting was consumed by a closed-door session. When board members emerged after 52 minutes, Superintendent Leonard Armato got a good report card. Armato received what board President Michael Taylor called “a very good rating” during the superintendent’s annual evaluation. “The main item the board uses to evaluate the superintendent is school performance scores,” Taylor said after the meeting. “Our school performance scores are excellent.” Armato is nearing the end of the third year since he was named to succeed Donald Aguillard, who left the St. Mary superintendent post to lead Lafayette Parish ...
