St. Mary’s state legislators, especially state Sen. Bret Allain, have been busily prefiling bills for the 2020 session, which begins March 9.
On the surface, some of the bills prefiled by Allain, R-Franklin, look like strictly local housekeeping measures. But the objects may be bigger than they appear.
And an offering by state Rep. Beryl Amedee, R-Gray, would name an existing law after a dog.
The dog is Duvall, an 8-year-old Labrador retriever and facility dog for the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney’s Office.
