Port of Morgan City officials will have a little over a week to pore over information before possibly making a decision on how to proceed with plans to keep the Atchafalaya River Bar Channel properly dredged.
The Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District Commission scheduled a special meeting for noon March 22 relating to the port’s efforts to acquire a dredge to accomplish officials’ goal of maintaining the Atchafalaya River Bar Channel at its Congressionally authorized 20-foot depth year round. The Bar Channel empties into the Gulf of Mexico.
